Seasonal flu shots will be available as long as there is a demand. With all the attention being given to H1N1, it is important to remember that the seasonal flu is serious also, and we recommend vaccination. No appointment is needed at the Wellness Center. Just bring your sense of humor, patience and your money. Cost for the seasonal flu shot: • Students, faculty and staff: $15.00, cash or check. Students can have the cost billed to their account. • Family and friends of our community: $20.00, cash or check What about that H1N1 vaccine? • Seasonal flu vaccines will not provide protection against 2009 H1N1 influenza (sometimes called swine flu). • Initial doses of the licensed vaccine are expected to be available by mid-October. • Our campus will be notified when the college receives the H1N1 vaccine. • The H1N1 vaccine will be available at no charge. For more information about 2009 H1N1 vaccines go to http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/vaccination/public/vaccination_qa_pub.htm |
